Important:. Hialeah follows Miami-Dade County Code Section 8-11(f). Buildings reaching 30 years (25 years coastal) receive notice from the City of Hialeah Building Division — not the county. The initial recertification is now due at 30 years under the Building Safety Inspection Program (BSIP), with subsequent inspections every 10 years.
Hialeah enforces the Miami-Dade County building recertification program under County Code Section 8-11(f), administered locally by the. City of Hialeah Building Division. (501 Palm Avenue, 2nd Floor). Property owners receive a certified letter when their building is due. Failure to submit within the allotted time may result in the structure being deemed unsafe, a hearing with the City's Special Magistrate, revocation of the Certificate of Occupancy, and other penalties.
Under the current Building Safety Inspection Program, the initial inspection is triggered at. 30 years. for inland buildings and. 25 years. for buildings within three miles of the coast, with recertification every 10 years thereafter. Buildings with an attached parking garage require additional guardrail and parking lot illumination inspections. All Home Meters handles the complete scope in one sealed package.
